General Overview
The Armistead is a free and confidential sexual health promotion service for Gay and Bisexual people and for male and female sex sex workers.
Based in Liverpool city centre, we also provide services in the neighbouring boroughs of Knowsley, Halton and St Helens.
The service began life as a HIV prevention outreach service to Gay and Bisexual men in Liverpool and Sefton in 1997 and has since diversified to encompass work with other groups.
Mission Statement
To deliver a social care and sexual health promotion service which takes a holistic and evidenced based approach to clients diverse needs. We are committed to improving well being and self esteem, tackling health inequalities and building community capacity. Reducing social exclusion, promoting rights, dignity, respect and citizenship; advocating for rights and empowering all the communities we serve are core values of the centre.
