General Overview
The Armistead is a free and confidential sexual health service for gay and bisexual men in Liverpool and Sefton, with an emphasis on HIV prevention & sexuality issues. The Armistead has been operating since 1997. The main administration base is in Liverpool city centre with satellite services in Sefton, Knowsley and St. Helens.
The service offers:
- Free sexual health material, including condoms and lube and leaflets.
- Outreach, in Public Sex Environments.
- Face to Face and counselling.
- Sexuality awareness & HIV/ Sexual Health training.
- Men’s Drop in, Liverpool.
- Netreach/ email support.
- Telephone helpline.
- Diverse range of Social groups, youth groups, parents & carers and group for people with learning difficulties.
- On scene sexual health promotions.
