Armistead City
Armistead City is a sexual health and drug outreach project that offers support and prevention services for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities (LGBT) and also those who are selling sex.
We also work with members of the community who identify as selling sex for gain or favour. The outreach team can talk to you in confidence. Armistead City also provides regular outreach session on the LGBT scene and surrounding areas.
Armistead City can offer support and advice on the following issues:
- Factual information on all aspects of drug and alcohol use problematic or recreational
- Sexual health information and safer sex materials
- Information on blood borne viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C
- Referrals to all Armistead Services
- Positive prevention, specialist information about keeping mentally, physically and sexually healthy
- Access to needle and syringe exchange
- Harm reduction advise
- Counselling
- Information on HIV meds and none prescribed and recreational drug interactions.
- Access to LGBT peer support drug and alcohol recovery group
The service aims to provide a none-judgmental and open access service to all those from the LGBT community regardless of race, religion, gender, status or learning difficulties.

How old are the people that can use our service?
The service is open to all LGBT people from 14 upwards. We will refer to other young people’s services as appropriate. .
Will my details be passed on to the police?
Armistead City is a strictly confidential service, we would only break confidentiality if there is a Safeguarding (child protection)/ Vulnerable adult issue.
Can I only come between 9 -5 on weekdays?
The service is very flexible and is open outside of working hours. The outreach team works on the scene so can be accessed in bars, clubs and street.
